A 24-Hour Floral Fix in Blooming Tasmania

Garden lovers can get a round-the-clock fix on Tasmania’s floral bounty thanks to the “B&Bs in Garden Retreats” on offer in this year’s Blooming Tasmania program.

Twenty of Tasmania’s prettiest B&Bs have been selected as showcase accommodation for the dedicated garden lover this spring and summer. Each has been chosen for its magnificent garden setting – everything from a delightful cottage patch to formal European grandeur.
The B&Bs provide a sanctuary for those exploring the almost endless array of gardens and events in Blooming Tasmania this year.

The 2002/03 program includes hundreds of possibilities - flower shows, festivals, activities, open gardens and National Trust estates. It offers guided walks, specialist nurseries and escorted tours for small groups and is complemented by more than 60 Tasmanian properties in the Australian Open Garden Scheme.

Visitors will have the chance to see seldom-opened gardens in small groups, often hosted by the gardeners themselves. Or they can see blooms on a grand scale, like the seas of tulips that turn the Table Cape Tulip Farm into a slice of Holland each spring, or the swathes of lavender that make the Bridestowe Lavender Farm a little corner of Provence each summer.

There are gardens with history, gardens of rare or exotic plants and gardens as grand as any English country estate.
